Hi! I was wondering what kind of acne scars do you have that made Yuli’s Cell Perfecto PM work so great on? Ice pick? Box car? I have old acne scars and I’m thinking of purchasing. When did you start to see results?

Hello there, thank you for your question!

A little about my acne scar history: at my worst, I had cystic acne that lumped on top of each other all over my face. This resulted in ice pick + box car scars along the sides of my face, and especially my cheeks. I had some superficial scars/hyperpigmentation along my forehead, and I even had some keloid scarring along my jawline.

I went to several dermatologists after I got off my 2nd course of Accutane because the scars from the Acne were becoming more debilitating than the actual acne (trust me, when a child points and stares at you in public, it just makes you want to curl up and be alone). My dermatologists all recommended laser for the ice pick and box car scars, and cortisone injections for the keloids. My first round with laser resulted in my face actually breaking out from irritation, it was red and splotchy for about a week, and I noticed that a large box car scar on my cheek actually looked wider. My keloids subsided a great amount thanks to cortisone injections and I think now they’re under control.

When I used YULI’s Cell Perfecto PM, my skin kind of looked like this picture, except more densely concentrated and with deeper scars. I would put a picture of myself, but I avoided the camera at this point in my life and just could not be photographed at all.

My scars were about.. 1-2 years old?  I know it sounds weird to say that you see results “right away”- I hate that kind of advertising. But I did see subtle change overnight, I noticed that my skin seemed a little ‘different’, but thought maybe I was just imagining it as we all tend to do sometimes when we want to see results. Within a week though, I noticed my skin appeared brighter and more even. In the first month, I started randomly feeling these little ‘itches’ similar to the way the skin under a scab kind of itches when it is rehabilitating itself where you kind of want to pick at it but shouldn’t – if that makes any sense. Give your skin about 40 days to see if you’ve noticed any changes, and TAKE photos!

After using about half a bottle, I saw my mom for the first time and she just kept looking at my face. I didn’t realize what she was looking at, and being really self-conscious I immediately inquired. She just said that she couldn’t believe how smooth and even my skin looked, and then she touched my face to see if I was wearing makeup, when she saw that I wasn’t, she literally said “how did the scars go away?” That’s when I knew this was doing something.

After I finished the bottle (about 4 months?), I looked at my face and recognized all those deep pits and scars were faded so much even the deeper ones I had remembered resembled fresh surface acne scars. I bought another bottle just because, I think I wanted a safety net – once your skin has been that damaged, you really want to make sure you’re stocked up on what works. I think I have a very realistic expectation for what things can do, and I can still see some of the deeper/bigger scars when I examine my face in the mirror but honestly, I can’t even see those scars in photos anymore so I’m quite pleased.

If you do decide to purchase this, here’s some advice for you and to anyone else who wants to use it:

The serum, as you can see in the picture is a cloudy/milky fluid. Remember to shake the formula – with sediment, since there is a need for oxygen activation. Here is the key, I’ve noticed that I see results quicker when I really massage the formula onto the scars. I think this action invigorates the scar tissue and lets the actives absorb faster.
And, this serum does have some hydration so I did not layer this under moisturizers or anything, because I didn’t want to impact the product in any way since it works with skins renewal system – I didn’t want to overload it.

Next, be sure to incorporate an exfoliator that you can use twice per week into your routine. This helps slough off dead skill cells and decrease the depth of your scar. This way these two products can work together to renew skin. By exfoliating layers that contain the scar tissue, you’re letting your body help the Cell Perfecto PM product allow your body to perfect and produce new cells. If you want something clean, I think the Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser I reviewed would be wonderful, but you can also try the Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Gel, or the high-end but not totally clean Sunday Riley Good Genes. I’ve also been trying Arcona The Solution, that Edo Jao recommended on his tumblr which is a ‘natural acid peel’. Over time the depth of your scars will decrease and when used with Cell Perfecto, you should notice fading faster.

I hope this was helpful for you. Message me if you have any more questions!

Hello. I’m very impressed with what I’ve read about this products. When I say I’ve exhausted almost every product out there that promises to help believe u me its no exageration. I’ve now become almost a recluse because of the condition of my skin. Deep pockmarks on my cheeks n pigmentation. I’m 44yrs old never had a problem with teenage acne but developed cysts on my face in my 30s. Where can I purchase this product in south africa n what is the price. Are there samples available. Please HELP

Hi. I’m from South Africa and I’ve been suffering from melasma for 3years (its really really bad). I’m afraid of even going out in public now. A friend in the U.S recommended Yuli’s cell perfecto PM and I came along this site and saw your comment, did you get this product? Where? And how much is it? Thank you
    Regards,

That’s not good, don’t ever be afraid of going out in public! I was the same way but realized that it is so much in my own head. I used this product years ago and still haven’t seen anything quite like it, it is really fab. I ordered from their website.

Hi!! I love your blog and as this question is coming a bit late I am wondering if I can actually use the Cell Perfecto if I am still struggling with acne? I use Tazorac .05% every other day and was wondering if I can use this on the off days? Or will it make me break out more? Have you heard of anyone experiencing breakouts when using Yuli’s Cell Perfecto?

Hmm not sure why/how it would make you break out more since it’s for people who have obviously had breakouts since it’s meant to treat their acne scars. If anything I’d imagine people who still have acne might want to wait until it’s calmed down before fixing the leftover damage otherwise it’s a little pointless to repair something that’s going to just get more damaged
